THE "LOVING YOURSELF DIET" PART TWO.
Loving yourself means being nice, patient, trusting and encouraging to yourself. Quite often our inner relationship with ourself is strict, full of hate and mistrust. I have written about the relationship of our inner parent and our inner child in the beginning of these lectures. We usually automatically aquire the relationship with ourself that our parents used to have with us as children. If we need to loose weight we might have overeaten because our parents did not give us enough real love.
Food is a good substitute for love for couples and for children and their parents. If we haven't been breastfed and thus did not get our basic food from the very beginning of our life we might well sense that there is always something missing in our life but we might have forgotten what it was. In order to fill this emptiness we might have started to eat always more than we needed. When children eat big portions of porridge at the age of two, the parents get used to this and think that the amount they eat would always increase. But there is actually a time around three or four, when they start eating much less and grow less. If parents are not aware of that fact, they might try to force the child to go on eating big quantities. Thus they might push their child into the habit of overeating. There are many other conditions that can lead to overeating, and psychotherapy and rebirthing might help a person to find out the true reasons for their overweight.
If you think that you have eaten as much and whatever food you like for as long as you like (about 1-8 weeks are recommended) you can gradually go over to part two of the "Loving yourself diet". You might be "fed up" with a lot of things such as sweets, meat, cream and biscuits and that is good. As you gave yourself lots of time to eat and chew slowly, sit comfortably, undistracted and use your favourite plate and cup some of your old habits might already have changed slightly.
Try to find yourself a counsellor or/and start writing a journal to review your daily life, especially talk or write about memories that come up, feelings and old habits. Express feelings such as anger, bitterness, fear, loneliness - preferably with the use of a cushion - in your therapy.
Start having regular massage and go to a sauna every week. Any kind of movement such as yoga, keep fit, tai-chi, dance, walking, running, cycling and gymnastics are helpful with the process. Artistic or musical expression can bring you more in touch with your feelings too.
Start taking remedies such as Agrimony, Crab Apple, Alexandrite, Azurite-Malachite and Black Cohosh. Each of them can make you more sensitive about what you are eating.
The next stage in the programme would be to make choices. Try to find out about your own rules; What do you believe is healthy and good for slimming and what do you believe is not. Let's start with the drinks. We've got black tea and herbal tea, real coffee and grain coffee, fizzy drinks and mineral water. When you have breakfast you have the choice of white bread and brown bread, bread with chemicals or organic bread, sugared jam or sugarfree jam, milk and soya cheeses, cow`s, goats and soya milk, butter and margarines with unsaturated fatty acids, white sugar or brown sugar, honey, fruit sugar, rice syrup or dried fruit.
You see now what I mean with making choices. Buy the two products and put them both on the table. Allow yourself to try them both and then choose truly what you want to eat at a time. Try to make a choice from your belly, not so much from your head.
I could imagine that some of you might get a bit fed up with the unhealthy fattening options after a while. Making real choices is something which not everybody is familiar with. Too often we have tried to push ourselves into doing something that our inner child has hated.
As lunchtime comes we might have a choice of either tinned vegetables, frozen, fresh, organic or biodynamic vegetables, white or brown rice and pasta, fat or red meat, lean meat, poultry or fish, soyameat, tofu burgers. The more healthily you eat, the more you give your body what it needs, the less you want to eat.
A test has been made with 3 year old children. They were offered lots of different food. In the beginning they probably had more sweets than healthy foods, but after a while they all started to choose a very healthy and balanced diet.
It does work when you start to trust your very individual taste, as long as other basic needs are not missing. You only have to be patient.
The time where you offer to yourself choices of food should last from 1 to 4 weeks. At the same time you are taking gem and flower essences and follow the above suggestions. Self massage can be very helpful at that time. Stand in front of the mirror and try different clothes on. How do you want to look ? What part of your body and which clothes do you like and what would you want to look differently? It is good to take time for those questions
After the stage of choices we will have a one week diet. More about it next week.
